DOGS ~ Judge KATHLEEN J. FRAWLEY

Thanks to the Committee for putting on such a lovely, well run show and a big thank you to my two stewards, who made my job so easy by their professionalism. With such large class entries – I placed my winning dogs by their virtues on the day. Front assemblies have improved since I last judged, but I am afraid I did come across a few with incorrect ‘bites’ – I had a wonderful day and thoroughly enjoyed my judging.

Good topline, nicely angulated hindquarters, moved extremely well with drive and purpose.

POST GRADUATE DOG (12)
1st Schevenels-Phengdis’ EYES OF THE WORLD CHEYENNE – Very well presented dog and one in whom I could see his sire’s influence. Well proportioned head, with good set on of ears (and he used them). Strong well defined and well fitting neck, good lay of shoulder, nicely balanced throughout and as I would have expected after examination, moved with drive. Nice feet.
2nd Lady Evans’ HAMBUTTS ETERNAL HOPE, JW – Another quality dog. Rich tri-colour. Good head with a lovely tip to the ear. Handled well to produce a powerful hind movement.
3rd Moger’s MOBELLA MASTERPIECE.

LIMIT DOG (18,1)
1st Ratcliffe’s GRANDVER CELTIC QUEST – This dog really has that WOW factor from his “sparkling white teeth” to the tip of his tail. He is a clean cut, flashy tri-colour and has the most wonderful head, good stop definition and his ear set is just right. His neck is strong and powerful and fits well to his correct shoulder placement. He has a good deep chest, with plenty of heart room, strong, well muscled hindquarters and therefore his movement was as I expected, purposeful and full of drive. He had a personality about him - he was animated and attentive. Extremely well handled, CC. I was pleased that my co-judge was of the same opinion and therefore he was awarded BIS.
2nd Kilsby’s LIONHEART CALLUM FROM TAMARSH – Another quality dog – here again an eye-catching dog, with the best of heads and expression. Good length to neck, correct shoulder placement, well proportioned, balanced body and good movement.

2nd Kilsby’s LOCHEIL GENESIS AT TAMARSH – Another lovely dog – Nice masculine head, correct eye and ear carriage. This dog too moved extremely well and again the balance of him showed in his powerful movement.
3rd Fox’s MIRAJE RUPERT BEAR.

VETERAN DOG (10,1)
1st Stacey’s SH CH MADELEYS TIME CHALLENGER – Impressive looking dog with a stunning look about him – lovely head with everything to like - shape, eye and ear carriage. Well made compact body – moved out well both coming and going. To be super critical, would have liked a bit more length to his tail to finish off the picture, nevertheless a worthy winner.

BITCHES ~ Judge BEN REYNOLDS-FROST

I was very pleased to have been asked to do this appointment, for one of my favourite breeds within the Pastoral Group.

DOG CC & BOB went to Ratcliffe’s GRANDVER CELTIC QUEST. This 4-year-old, I believe, was winning his first CC, but over the bitch was much more mature. He was pleasing to the eye, with best of heads, well shaped eye and correct ear set. Correct length of neck and good shoulders. Lovely topline and hindquarters. Moving well. I had no hesitation in agreeing with my co-judge Kathie Frawley, that he should take Best of Breed.

MINOR PUPPY BITCH (5,1)
1st BP & BPIS Gregory’s TONKORY EXHIBIT ONE M’LORD – 7˝ month B/W. Pleasing head and neck, good shoulders, correct front and feet. Well formed topline and good depth of brisket for such a tender age. Correct hindquarters with good, long tail reaching well beyond the hock. Elegant on the move.
2nd Gillespie’s DETANIA SUNRISE DREAMER – 6˝-month Brown. Good head, neck and front. Still very raw, but given time am sure will come good. Not moving so well as winner.
3rd Stacey’s MADELEYS STEP IN STYLE.

PUPPY BITCH (16,3)
1st Lucas’s ACULSIA CONTINENTAL DIVA – 9 month B/W. Pleasing head and neck with semi-erect ears. Good front and feet, correct topline and good depth of brisket, correct hindquarters and moving freely.
2nd Gregory’s TONKORY FEMME FATALE – 6˝ months B/T. Nice little bitch and I am sure will come good given time. Pleasing head and neck, correct front and feet, good topline, hindquarters tucked underneath her on the stand. Moving well.
3rd Gillespie’s DETANIA SUNRISE DREAMER.

JUNIOR BITCH (15,5)
1st Tydeman’s KARINGAL KIRI TE KANAWA – 16 months. I really liked this young bitch. Pleasing head and neck with excellent front and feet, good bone and shoulders. Correct topline and good length of tail reaching well beyond the hock. Excellent on the move, giving the impression she could move all day. I considered her greatly for the Res CC.
2nd Tasker’s GOYTRE PROMISE OF FANTASY – 15 months. Longer in body than the winner, but all in proportion. Good head but would have liked better ear carriage. Good front and feet and good rib cage and topline. Moving well.
3rd Tiller’s FOXBARTON LADY IN WAITING.

YEARLING BITCH (12)
1st Alexander’s CARISTAN COCO CHANEL AT MALYNAR – 18 months, lovely bitch of quality. Pleasing head and neck, correct front, bone and feet. Good topline with correct depth of brisket and good rib cage and hindquarters, moving and covering the ground well.
2nd McCord’s ALTAMERA NEXUS SENSATION – Larger bitch than winner. Good head but being lazy with her ears. Good bone, feet, topline. Would have liked a touch deeper in brisket. Moved well.
3rd Tiller’s FOXBARTON LADY IN WAITING.

MAIDEN BITCH (9,2)
1st Gregory’s TONKORY EXHIBIT ONE M’LORD.
2nd Liebscher’s TROUMERLE BLUE RAGS – 17 months old and has excellent jacket. Nice head and neck with good shoulders. Well used ears and correct topline and hindquarters, moving well.
3rd Piles’s MIRAJE MAGICAL MYSTERY.

GRADUATE BITCH (7)
1st Tydeman’s KARINGAL KIRI TE KANAWA.
2nd Hartfield’s TAMARSH MISS YOU NIGHTS AT MOSHANTA – Nice bitch but preferred head on my winner to hers. Good front, neck and topline. Good depth of brisket, long tail and moving well.
3rd Alexander’s CARISTAN COCO CHANEL AT MALYNAR.

POST GRADUATE BITCH (13,3)
1st Avory’s SHELTYSHAM SORTA NICE AT TERRICA – Just over 2 years old and an excellent bitch of quality. Best of heads with good length of neck flowing into good shoulders. Good front and feet and correct topline and hindquarters. Good length of tail reaching well below the hock. Excellent bone and feet moving at the correct gait.
2nd Gregory’s TONKORY C’EST LA VIE – 19 months and another good bitch of quality. Smaller and longer than class winner, but still a good bitch. Pleasing head and neck, with good front, bone and feet. Good hindquarters and moving well.
3rd Robinson’s PONDEBOYS CHARLOTTE.

LIMIT BITCH (23,4)
This was a very hard class to judge, as it had many quality bitches and could have given a number of red cards out in this class.
1st & RCC Paesler’s RESLEAP JINGLE BELLE – 2 years old and an excellent bitch. Pleasing in head, neck, eye shape and ear carriage. Correct front, bone and feet with good deep brisket and best of toplines. Good hindquarters and moving with purpose.
2nd Schevenels-Phengdis’s EYES OF THE WORLD BONY BE GOOD – Another really good bitch but for me she was spoilt by her gay tail. Pleasing head, neck, bone, forestate and feet. Good topline. Hind feet too close on the stand. Moving well.
3rd McCord's ALTAMERA TIMELESS IMAGE.

OPEN BITCH (18,3)
1st, CC, Res BOB & BOS Gregory’s TONKORY YIPEE AYEH – 2˝-year-old B/W. I liked this bitch as soon as she entered the ring and she didn’t disappoint me at all. Pleasing head, neck and bone. Correct topline and good depth of brisket, moving effortlessly around the ring for her young handler who, for me, certainly got the best from her. I just couldn’t deny her the CC and I understand this was her second. May the third not be too long in coming.
2nd Ward’s SHELTYSHAM CHIC SHANDON AVEC CARISTAN – A rising 4-year-old bitch and another lovely bitch of quality. Pleasing head and neck, with good front and feet. Correct depth of brisket. Would have liked slightly better on the move.
3rd Schevenels-Phengdis's EYES OF THE WORLD ALIMCBEAL.

VETERAN BITCH (6,1)
1st Spencer’s SH CH WIZALAND WHISPERING FROST AT JENWISP – 9-year-old and still looking in great shape for her age. Pleasing head, front and topline. Moving like a puppy.
2nd Simpson’s JENKY’S GEM – Nearly 12 and great for her age. Still has the get up and go, although slower now with age. Moving well.
3rd Tydeman’s SPELLCAST NIGHT STAR AT TENITA.

JUNIOR HANDLING 8-18 YEARS ~ Judge DANIELLE JONES

Well done to both these handlers who coped well with not the easiest of dogs. They just need a bit of brushing up on their skill and they will do well.

1st Brittany Ravenscroft – Did very well but overstretched her dog and needs to brush up on pattern work. Nice shadowing and showing of teeth. Had a good rapport with her dog. Well done and good luck for the future.
2nd Rhianna Brack – Very close decision, again need to brush up on pattern work and make sure the dog is standing square. Must remember not to drop the lead when showing the teeth. Good shadowing. They presented a nice overall picture. Hope you do well in the future.
