Class Beginner D/B - Judge's Report
Judge: Mr K A Starkey
Ring Steward: Fiona Starkey-Norman
Score: George Lister
Entries 35 - 22 ran
This was a well organised show with a hard working Committee looking after the Judges and Stewards very well and keeping up with a constant supply of drinks which was essential due to the extreme heat. Special thanks to my daughter Fiona for Ring Stewarding & George on the scoreboard and last but not least to the competitors who took all my decisions with good grace.
1st. Miss H Curtis' Wotta Cracker (X) Lost 1. Wotta Cracker by name and also by nature, a lovely round from a really good team. Well handled and just a couple of silly faults, this was a pleasure to judge.
2nd. Mrs V Lumpkin's Laceway Dancin Daybreak (WS) Lost 1½. Excellent Heelwork on and off lead, just lost out on present and finish on the Retrieve, an excellent team and should go far.
3rd. Miss K Williams' Latchets Clyde (GSD) Lost 1½. Although tied for second this handler waived the run-off, which in the heat was a wise move. Beautifully handled young Shepherd and I awarded a Judge's Special for lovely teamwork and good handling.
4th. Miss S Walker's Jack On The Green (WS) Lost 2. Excellent round, but just watch those left turns as they were the main problem in the Heelwork.
5th. Mrs D Mangles' Debonair Rough Diamond (WS) Lost 2½. Good round, just needs tidying up a little on the Heelwork. Again left turns were a problem, but considering the heat, well done.
6th. Mrs C Warner's Carols Boy (X) Lost 4. Steady round, just needs Heelwork to be tidied up a little, but as this was first to work and considering the heat, a very competent and well handled round.
