Open Obedience Show 1/7/2007
Class Novice Part 2 - Judge's Report

Judge: Jo Newman
Steward: Christine Kennard
Scoreboard: Derek Kennard

I would like to thank Karen Angier and the committee for inviting me to judge at this well run show (they even sent someone to find us when we were late for lunch). Secondly I want to thank Christine Kennard for stewarding. This was her first attempt and made a fantastic job of it. Last but by no mean last Charlie Webley and his stay team who stand out in what ever the weather throws at them.

1st. ARO Paula Maslin & Gatehouse Tango WS D. A nice steady dog with mainly little bits of wide working & a couple of crooked sits the only things to mark. Congratulations & good luck for the rest of the season.

2nd. ARO Gill Winyard & Mastet Jazz Bow WS D. Another dog giving little away. Slight crabbing & crooked presents on the Recall & Retrieve. Not quite as steady in the run off. Well done

3rd. Linda Sage & Cleynehage Xtra Flair G.Ret D. Kyle has a fantastic attitude to his work. Tends to go slightly wide on some turns & along with a couple of crooked sits relegated you to this place. Have faith in him.

4th. ARO Indira Helsby & Abby Northern Alexandrite Sheltie B. Ebony had lovely attention but I felt this made her go wide a few times trying to keep her eyes on mum. Unfortunately broke the sit stay on return.

5th. ARO Mary Cleverley & Mystic Megan Whitesocks XB B. Megan like a lot of others lost most of her marks for wide working along with crooked finishes spoilt what otherwise was a nice round.

6th. ARO Sue Glassfield & Detania Sweet Jasmine BC B. Another dog that had a lovely attitude but tended to be slightly on & off the leg. A lovely fast recall which caused her to bump into you. Also a crooked present & finish.

Thank you all for accepting my decisions and I hope you all continue enjoying your dogs. Hard luck story of the day had to be Malcolm Butler & Tamarsh Bendazzelboy with clear HF, RC & Retrieve (very difficult to get when I judge) but had been spooked by the railings on the HOL.
