Open Obedience Show 1/7/2007
Class Novice Part 3 - Judge's Report
Judge: Ron Oakley
Thank you Karen and SBCC committee for inviting me to judge at such a well run show. From start to finish we were treated very well. Lovely lunch and super gifts. Thank you to my team, Lyn for an excellent job of ring steward, guiding the competitors around the ring with ease. Alicia my wife, for keeping the competitors coming so I had no breaks in my day. In addition, a special thanks to Charlie Webley and his stay team.
The standard today was very high overall and my line-up could have all won on another day. Well done.
1st. Mrs Cathy Butler with Currahee Lucky Lady - WS. Lost ¾. This team ran 6th in the running order and set the standard for the day. Very little to mark, nice steady dog. HOL was faultless at this level, with only one minor error in HF, well done. I was not surprised to hear this win gets you out of novice.
2nd. Mrs Teresa Mills with Ludgate Red 'Lert - BC. Lost 1. Another very steady dog, it was a shame you were up against the winner today as you were so close to winning! Good luck for the rest of the season.
3rd. Mrs Chris Hancock with Borderclan High Tide - BC. Lost 1¼. This happy dog worked well as a team with her handler, just bits and pieces added up, but still a very good mark. Well done.
4th. Mrs Janice Garlick with Astronomical Snowdrift - BC. Lost 1¾. This experienced handler got the best from her dog with a happy manner, which was a pleasure to watch!
5th. Mrs Hazel Troth with Broadlawns Talk Of The Town - WS. Lost 2. A steady dog who worked well for his handler.
6th. Miss Karen Pattinson with Raiff The Rebel - BC. Lost 2½. This handler was so pleased to be awarded this place. The dog worked a nice round with a good attitude. Carry on in the same manner and I am sure a higher place will soon be yours, well done.
Judge's Special: Mrs V House with Wizaland Daysha-Vu BC.
Extra comment: L Tandy with Soromour Know All GSD (Conor). Was working well until the dumbbell unfortunately broke during the retrieve. What a shame.
