Open Obedience Show 11th May 2008
Class C Part 1 - Judge's Report
Judge: Helen Franklin
Steward: Karen Lacey
Scoreboard: Eileen Restell
Decoy: Jenny Holt
Thank you to Karen and the rest of SBCC committee for this invitation to judge at their show. Weather was hot so I cut the stays and put on a short round. Standard was pretty good today especially after I sprayed sun cream in my left eye as I could not see properly (thanks to Mags Scott for her medical assistance and making it look like I had entered a wet t-shirt competition, perish the thought). My thanks to Karen for her part-time job of stewarding and the chinese and alcohol the night before, and to Eileen keeping the scores going and Jenny for decoying. My last comment is the same everytime I judge 'C' and that is commiserations to Janet Bates and her wonderful Oliver, the best I have seen him work Janet, (and I promise until you retire I will never judge ticket). The results as follows:
1st. Kim Innes & Dazelrock's Dream Machine, BC D, lost 4.75.
Kim and Buddy in a class of their own again today, stylish consistent heelwork with good set exercises secured this win. Congratulations.
2nd. Jane Bowman & Colliewood Call Me Madam at Samalone, WS B, lost 6.75.
Slight overturning in heelwork but still very stylish and accurate, good set exercises but a costly scent at the end, although nice team to judge. Well done.
3rd. Rose Sparkes & Rosebriars Meg OW, WS B, lost 7.5.
Well Rose what can I say, nice heelwork, DC and sendaway, but a bit of a mouth in retrieve. Very pleased to award this rosette with Megan. Well done.
4th. Barbara Macknish & Coriecollies Jypzi from Goldlawns, WS B, lost 8.
Slight drifting in the heelwork but overall a nice round and handling from Barbara and Jypzi. Well done.
5th. Russell Becque & Silver of Blue Moon, WS D, lost 8.
Slight overturning on turns but good set exercises from Russell and his dog. Well done.
6th. Rita Scott & Woughstock Wobernz Willing OW, WS D, lost 8.25.
Again just bits and pieces in the heelwork but good set exercises from Rita and Kilo secured this place. Well done.
