Open Obedience Show 11th May 2008
Novice Part 2 D/B - Judge's Report

Judge: Hazel Troth
Steward: Sheila Flight
Scoreboard: Joanne Goudie
59 entries ~ 43 ran

This was a very well organised show, good venue, excellent buffet lunch and a very generous and useful present at the end of the day - a big thank you to SBCC for the invitation to judge. The weather was very hot and Sheila, who was stewarding for the first time, suffered sunburn. Well done Sheila, you were great and Joanne kindly kept the scoreboard in order. Competitors came all day, we were never waiting. Apart from the dogs placed, the overall standard of work in this class was not high but the heat certainly played a part.

1st. Dellekko Rockafella (BC) Mrs L Hughes. Lost 1½.
Last to work and produced an outstanding round. I understand this dog is now out of Novice and I wish you every success in the higher classes. This was a very well deserved win - congratulations.

2nd. Folgem Fickle Finger Of Kate (WS) Mrs P Spooner. Lost 2¼.
So unlucky to meet the winning dog today because this was an excellent round, very well handled, showing good control throughout. I am sure you will be out of this class shortly.

3rd. Pepsanner Dutch Monarch (GR) Mrs L Sage. Lost 2¾.
With Maurice just recovering from a hip operation, Linda worked his dog at a cracking pace which really suited this very enthusiastic dog. Clear recall and retrieve but heelfree was very expensive today.

4th. Rincewind Bob of Wychinour (BC) Miss R Heard. Lost 3.
Small errors throughout which I am sure you will correct to secure your place in the higher classes. A more experienced dog but certainly not ready for retirement yet!

5th. Juwellor Mister Archie (WS) Mrs V J Mason. Lost 3¼.
A beautiful recall but loss of position in heelwork cost you a higher place. A young dog who, I am sure, will continue to improve and join the higher classes.

6th. Brechfa Dolly Mixture (GSD) Mrs J D Enright. Lost 4¼.
This bitch has really improved. She is such a stylish worker and I would love to see her in the higher classes. This handler really gets the best from her GSDs - good luck.
Won run-off from

Mr S Judge and Ishmaeleyah Sphinx
This is a young BC with bags of enthusiasm. Very stylish & definitely one to watch for the future.
